Transparency In XMB

Upgraded, very happy, but creating custom menu buttons is a bear.
Is there a specific was to make the color surrounding a custom button transparent? I've used what appears to be the default color (a purple-pink) but the system still shows the color.

(hold the laughter) MSPaint.
GIMP, explain... is it freeware? Working on the cheap. :) Spent all my play money on a half T drive for the PS3.

I already told you, use Paint.NET. It's less complicated than GIMP for someone who's non-serious about graphics.

I like the way you think, lol

What image editor are you using? In GIMP you just have to add an alpha channel to the image & then erase away the sections you want transparent.
