I bought the dingoo a320 within minutes of discovering it on ThinkGeek.com. A handheld emulator thats capable of running up to 32-bit roms, its updatable, has AV out, plays other media, SD slot, on sale for $79.99????

This thing has caused me nothing but frustration since I got it. First off, it straight up does NOT run in Windows 7/Vista and good luck finding a PC that doesnt run Windows 7 these days. So after a day of no luck finding a pc with XP (and trying every damn trick in the book to get Windows 7 to recognize my a320, the USBSTOR file, couldnt rename the original no matter what, unlocker doesnt work with windows 7 apparently, blah blah blah) so my friend lets me into his shop after hours to use a netbook running xp, and he brought me a flash drive with a dozen or so roms.

So after successfully loading them up, I go home and start playing Chrono Trigger for about 2 hours and go to bed. The next morning I go to plug it in to charge for a while, and I drop it on my plastic kitchen floor. It wasn't a bad drop, the floor is like a plastic-resin-linoleum that gives a little when you press on it so the unit didnt smash to pieces or anything, it just instantly bricked with the white screen and now I'm going on 3 days of trying to find another computer with XP (I'm about to buy a $200 netbook just to use with this damn thing) so I can run the Unbricker tool (which I don't even have much faith in).

Has anyone bricked their dingoo because of a drop? Am I wasting my time trying to unbrick it with the tool? Should I try to exchange it or something since I bought it less than a week ago?

Please only reply if you have something relevant to say, If your gonna be a troll because I insulted your precious emulator just move on.. Thanks.

Think geek does have a really good return policy, I wouldn't mention the drop to them though.

Are you using the USB cable that came with it? That might be why it won't work with Windows 7.  Some Dingoos ship with weird hardware, like the charger/cable don't work. If you could hunt down a different cable (which they're really not too hard to find), I'm sure you can use it on 7.
