I have tried again and again to install firmware using that stupid "flashutil" utility without bricking and I couldn't do it. I have bricked it atleast 10 times now. I found a different way to install the custom firmware. Here are instructions:

1) Download the TD-3 firmware

2) Rename the "a320-1.03TD-3.hxf" to just "A320.HXF"

3) Stick that in the root directory of your dingo

4) Start your dingo while holding the "down" button on the D-pad.

You'll notice that once it is done upgrading it will not start up all the way. It will be stuck at that td-3 screen. Continue:

5) Connect your dingo to your PC and stick the root files that came with the td-3 download into your dingo root directory.

6) reset your dingo.

Your dingo should start up correctly.

I have also found another way to install custom firmware using the new unbricker tool utility. If you would like instructions, please let me know.

whats funny is that those instructions are actually in the instruction leaflet that came with the dingoo but everybody misses it (well not moving the root files for the cfw but its basicly there)

Woohoo! It worked!

Thanks for the post. This worked perfectly.

Plus it was very annoying that the custom fireware was not working correctly.

Now I can use custom themes.

You know I follow these instructions and I get stuck on the screen with the toaster laughing. I place the Root files and replace the game folder with it and place the system file where it belongs. Then I hit the reset button because its still bricked the boot screen and guess what..........ITS STILL STUCK ON THE BOOT SCREEN WITH THOSE FREAKING TOASTERS LAUGHING!!

Sorry but its really annoying. The only reason I want the custom firmware is to use the theme and perhaps overclock. Why can't the release a regular v1.2 update with these things on theme. Seriously why release vv 1.1 with just language updates? Are you freaking kidding me? Is that the best you can do?

"Needs IPOD Codec then its a perfect 10"

 !!Come on Dingoo team!!

EDIT: I've followed all of the instructions. But now my Dingoo is frozen on the TD-3 screen. If plugged in, it will remain on the USB screen until I reset it. Sometimes when I reset it, the screen will go black until I attempt to reset it again and/or plug it into the computer. Other than that, it won't do anything.

EDIT2: Updated to 1.2 firmware; nevermind! Problem was resolved. But no cfw. :(

I'm a srs n00b at this. Sorry for my utter failure. :C
