Has anyone looked into a driver that would allow you to plug a usb game controller into the mini-usb port on the dingoo, to allow a 2nd player to play multiplayer games?

I think this would be a fantastic addition, especially when the dingoo is hooked up to a tv or monitor.

I posted similar question to this one a month ago, all I got was BullS*$%^ from bunch of people who dont know what they talking about. In my opinion I thinks its possible, as long as someone who knows how to make actual dingoo programs makes a effort to build a program (not some  stupid dork covered in cheeto dust and living in their parents basement). the only problem would be in my opinion, is that they would have either create progam to accept and recognize various drivers for contollers or create seperate progams for each driver. Of course then again, Im a idiot and have no knownledge of programing, all we can do is hope that someone who knows how to program stuff, hears our crys for multiplayer, and feels sympathy for us. Also if people would stop playing around with things that are a little too unrealistic like PSX4all or N64 emu's and come together as group and fix the simplier things, we might have multiplayer, a perfect snes emulator, and the y/b error fix.

If the day even comes when someone actually releases a button fix for the native firmware, I'm gonna write to the queen and tell her how happy I am.

Even if it was one driver that only worked with one specific model of controller, i would go out of my way to buy that controller.

One of the most enjoyable things with old games systems was sitting down with a friend or 2 to play, even if it was just taking turns with Mario/Luigi in Mario 3.

I would kill to be able to plug a controller into my dingoo, plug the dingoo into the tv, and be able to recreate that fun on every game console from my youth, then unplug and take the console with me in my pocket to play on the train.

I'm not a programmer or developer, but I would think this would be very easy to do through Dingux.  Since there are literally oodles of USB gamepads already supported under Linux, it should be VERY easy (I would imagine) to port this over to Dingux (since it's a port of Linux for the Dingoo).  Once TV-out is working in Dingux, it would be the best thing ever!

Actually this is IMPOSSIBLE due to the fact that the usb port has to be unpowered in order to use it the charge the dingoo. All gamepads currently out there need the have power.

While researching the idea of using new usb gamepads with old no usb dos, I turned up some USB facts that could help spread some light on this issue. Here is a little USB 101:

First off it's not as simple as a port; that's just what you can see, and it is that simple in the dingoo. Actually USB is two things. 1) the USB HOST CONTROLLER, and downstream from that is  2) the USB HUB which can have 1 or more ports. The controller is kind of like a network sever, and following this analogy the hub would be more like the router which the server and the client computers are all connected to.

Now the host controller is a piece of hardware inside the device or computer, and is the part the the Dingoo is lacking. I'm sure someone could make a software host controller emulator, but then you would still need power.

There are infact some interesting ideas that have been tabled for getting a gamepad working on dingoo, the easiest being another device to act as the host controller and hub, and you would then connect your dingoo and as many gamepads as you had free usb ports left on this USB master device. This Idea was dimissed for being too impractical, all those wires and two devices when what you really wanted was one small potable device.

If you want two player action on a PMP (for those who don't know thats Portable Media Player) I would suggest checking out this $330 UMPC (just learned this one myself thats Ultra Mobile PC); to bad it's not available for purchase yet:

I hope this answers your questions.

The Pandora?  Yeah, it would be great to own one... if it ever gets released.

I've got another question:

Would the power provided from an active USB hub suffice?  You can actually charge your camera/phone/device when hooked up solely to some active USB hubs (not all) without a PC so I would assume that would provide more than enough power for a gamepad.  Granted, it goes against the portable principle since the USB hub will have to be plugged in to a power source, but maybe it's possible to jimmy something together to power it by battery?

Another question: what about usilizing a MicroSD WiFi card for multiplay?  I haven't had any experience with those though - maybe they're exclusively meant for sharing out the picture directory on the card over WiFi?
