Hi!,

I have tones of music video clips in FLV format (you tube etc) and I am well aware that the native firmware will only play the older version (not H.264).

I seem to be one of those few people that just can't get Dingux on my machine (yep...been through EVERY guide going..still can't install dual boot).

I have converted lots to MP4 (PSP format, as advised) and generaly felt a bit dissapointed with the quality (file is only reduced by about 1/4...but percieved quality is a lot less).

I was wondering if anyone is planning a native media player that will play the newer FLV formats and improve the playback of other video files? (not sure if the new firmware update improved media playback)

I'm sure it's a big ask and as I am not a programmer I can only guess at the kind of work involved?

Too me the dingoo is near perfect. The emulation is great (even Megadrive, with the update), the sound is great (even through the 'cheap' earphones that came with it), the scene is great (growing bigger by the day) and the price is great!!!

The only thing I find a bit dissapointing is video playback (don't get me wrong, some videos play fine).

It's a nice bit of kit that has so much potential. My kids wanted an overpriced iPod for christmas, I'd rather give them a Dingoo A320
