 First of all Hello!

This is my first post on this forum, I am from UK London and loving the idea of a cool little device for games, music and videos.

I have been looking into the war between GPH and Dingoo. I am very confused and could do with a hand please ! :-)

I have a lot of questions and I know they might have been covered in other threads but everyone is different and instead of spending hours searching I though I would just ask!

DINGOO:

To my understanding these are the strong points of the Dingoo:

1) Small

2) Ergonomics (comfortable)

3) Cheap

4) Rechargeable from standard USB ports (big plus in my eyes)

5) Comes loaded with games

6) Great support and following

7) Good multimedia player

8) Looks good and understated (slick)

To my understanding these are the weaker points of the Dingoo (compared to competitors):

1) Lacks hardware processing power (3D chip)

2) Small shoulder buttons

3) Cannot handle PS1 roms with sound

4) Does not have Amiga emulation :-(

WIZ/CAANOO:

To my understanding these are the strong points of the main competitor in my eyes Caanoo/Wiz:

1) Possibly even better ergonomics (Caanoo)

2) 3D chip

3) More expandability and future upgrades because of 3D chip

4) Possibility of superior PS1 performance in the future (at the moment seems on par with Dingoo)

5) Has Amiga emulation!!!

To my understanding these are the things that put me off buying the Caanoo/Wiz:

1) Uncomfortable to use (Wiz)

2) Looks crappy (Both)

3) Inferior build quality (from what I gather more the Wiz)

4) Nearly twice the price

5) Under use of the 3D chip

6) Uses normal batteries and does not charge from standard USB sockets!!! (Super lame)

I have tried as hard as possible to make this clear and easy to understand sorry if it is a little long winded and seems more like a form to fill in (lol).

As you can tell I am leaning more to the side of the Dingoo.

I have more specific questions regarding GPH vs Dingoo (sorry):

Is it possible to get dos emulation on either of these? For such classic games as Fallout? And what will the performance be like?

Will there be much more expandability software wise for the Dingoo or has it reached its potential in processing power? I.E: Will it be able to handle PS1 games better in the future through upgrades? Could it potentially handle some PC games or is the lack of the 3D chip really going to stop its expandability? Would this be more a GPH positive?

Ok I think that is pretty much it, sorry I am pretty overwhelmed by all the different consoles/emulators/specs/support/expandability!!!!!

Regards,

Dom.

Ok I honestly couldn't be bothered to wait for an answer I got one !!

It was the one linked above. I would still appreciate some replies to my thread for curiosities sake.

I am so excited I checked it out and yes you CAN get dos box in Dingux and the Dingoo I was pretty much sold when I discovered this!!

I ordered has Dingux preloaded with 3000 games :-)

I think it was a really good deal it is 8gb?

Hope I do not see the same for like £50 lol
