I have tried to make edits to both the custom and official firmware V1.03 using the HXF Tool V.04 Beta; such as, fix typos, capitalize menu items, and change bootup and shutdown screens. Everything seems to work until I try to flash the new HXF file, it just won't install properly. I remember another thread where someone was using the HXF Tool with success. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Its always worked fine for me the only problem i've ever had is if you make a menu title more than 16 characters long the extra letters get cut off and stay on the screen. my advice would be to re-download both the hxf tool and firmware hxf in case they good muddied up some how. and then only make a few changes at a time so you can see whats causing the problem.

What firmware have you worked on? What process did you use to flash the firmware file? Have you applied the theme patch using the tool?

Thanks.

That was me in the other thread.  I used the custom 1.03 from this site.  It was already modified with the patch, all I did was change the bootup/shutdown screen.  I didn't realize you could change the menu until after I flashed it, and I didn't feel like flashing it again after loading games on it.  This is where I began: http://www.dingoo-digital.com/forums/firmware-hacking/firmware-downgrade... .
