I just brought a new Dingoo a320 from thinkgeek.com and I love it! But, i'm running linux and xp, and I need some help to put custom firmware on it. I don't know what everyones talking about when they say, "hold down the b button to put it in usb mode", mine automaticly does this. Also, it automaticly is reconized in linux and xp with no drivers installed. Though, when I tried to flash it with a china-chip tool found in the new firmware, it didn't do anything. The chinese loading bar kept on going all day and not one line appeared in the output box, can someone please help?

There are two distinctly different "modes" that a Dingoo can enter when plugged into your computer.

If you simply plug your Dingoo into your computer via the included USB cable, your computer will recognize it as a USB device; you will be able to view and manipulate files on your Dingoo, with some limitations on what you can view and access.

If you use the "hold down the 'B' button" technique, you will put your Dingoo into a dfferent mode. This mode is often referred to as "USB mode," but this Wiki page refers to it as "RockBox mode" (and refers to the simple plugged-in state as USB mode):

You must put your Dingoo into this mode in order to install Dingux.

Regardless of what you choose to call these modes, they are different, and you do need to be aware of that.
