How do I install the dual boot Dingux?
Hi guys, are there any 'How to' guides for noobs on how to install the dual boot Dingux floating around the www? It seems the Dingux has a higher success rate with certain emulatiors so I figured having the best of both worlds can't help.
Hope this is in the right forum topic?
Cheers
I am using windows XP and I just followed the idiots guide and it worked fine.
I didn't need to partition my mini SD the only thing I was a bit unsure of was the Dos command box but I sussed that in the end (with a little help from google).
You need to use the command to change directory (which is cd by the way) at one point.
Everything else is pretty straightforward.
Good Luck
Yeah u are right , in the most cases there is no need to create a Partition Table.
But some Cards , when bougth don´t got a Table.
In that case you need to create one.
In my case i had to create a partition table
But there is allready a patch for U-Boot that solves that problem, and i think Booboo will
apply that patch to his next Dual-Boot release.
And truly this is the only problem many people had to Face, the rest of the FAT only Dual-Boot
Installation is f*****g easy.
The easyest way is to copy the Dual-Boot installer to c:/db
Then execute " cmd "
and then use "cd.." and "cd" cmd. to navigate to c:/db
For the ones who know good old DOS this shouldnt be that hard.
I read the guide it mentiones at the steps how to do the update also that there are earlier and later display types. How do I find out which display type I have got? ( I got my Dingoo yesterday), thanks in advance! :)
2. Turn on your Dingoo. Go to the “System Setup” menu, then “About”, and
press A. Then press the following key combination: up-right-down-up-rightdown.
Then you will see a hidden diagnostics screen. Look around and you
should see "ILI9325" or "ILI9331" somewhere.
Taken from the guide
Thanks,. I have read through the guide but I missed that. sorry
does the About screen's version number mean (it says version 1.11) that I have latest fw installed or can that be seen somewhere else?
How did you follow the guide? It was so convoluted, repetitive, and full of expository gibberish that I couldn't tell where the actual steps for setting everything up and going through the process in one go were.
Yes, I got it working.
You just skip the whole explaining part and start at "How to do it" to read.
can i have some help with this using linux?

There is a guide at : http://dingoo-scene.blogspot.com/2009/07/idiots-guide-to-installing-ding...
But before you copy the contents of the "local-10.zip" to your
Card check if it has a "Partition Table".
You can create a Partition Table using Linux ( Ubuntu ) with GParted.
Othewise Dingux won´t Boot , and just hangs at the Dingux Splash Screen
I dont know how this can be done under Windows , becouse the most Windows Partition Tools
don´t recognize USB/Card Medias.
Maybe someone else knows a way.
Dingoo A320 Rocks !!!
