I guess you would need to re-encode your videos with subtitles so that they are hard-coded.

Yeah Re-Encode is the only way so far.

It would be nice is VLC player were ported to dingux ;) Pretty sure that way it would be possible & all video formats would work on our Dingoo's

mplayer is capable of just doing that (when compiled with the right options)

http://a320.freeforums.org/ingenic-mplayer-now-considered-as-beta-t1188....

it is now in beta for dingoo, I haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure it eventually will be able to play back with subtitles, if it is not already possible.

Yes... Mplayer for Dingux NOT play movies with subtitles.... for now...

But in dmenu.cfg you can identify the file of subtitle...

I do to test...

MenuItem MPLAYER
{
Icon = "res/media/gmu.png"
Name = " Mplayer"
Executable = "./mplayer.dge -sub 24S06E01.srt 24S06E01.avi"
WorkDir = "/usr/local/mplayer"
}

When loading the mplayer dingux you see in writing that detected the subtitles.

If file subfont.ttf not in place "local\home\.mplayer" dingux show an error.

Placing the file "subfont.ttf" there in the folder the message error disappears but mplayer does not show the subtitles.

I do not know if you are understanding me! I was just testing whether it was possible to see the subtitles!

Sorry my English....;-)

Basta colocar o comando "mplayer -sub nome_do_seu_video.srt nome_sdo_eu_video.avi"

Last I read through his postings... The Developer HAS YET NOT - worked with the Subtitles area of mplayer for Dingux, he does not mention anything related to subtitles on his postings. You will probably need to ASK HIM for help on that matter...we are not the mplayer Developers, that is why the guy up here, provided you the LINK to it(mplayer's developers link)... so that you can ask for help *Over there.. directly to the DEVELOPER of mplayer

;)
