I've tried all available tutorials (windows and linux) to set up the dingoo for dualboot, including this one: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&tl=en&u=http://gueux-forum.net/index.php%3Fshowtopic%3D217694&prev=hp&rurl=translate.google.com.

But all of them failed at the point when the flash script for the terms and conditions should come up automatically.

does your screen just go blank?

If it does unplug your usb cable

I just did one with a version 1.2 no problems whatsoever

I'm still trying and gettting more and more pissed by that crap.

What I've found out now is that the two last "Done" - lines are missing in my attempts:

sudo usbtool 1 hwinit.bin 0x80000000
[INFO] File size: 3144 bytes
[INFO] Searching for device...
[INFO] Found device, uploading application.
[INFO] GET_CPU_INFO: JZ4740V1
[INFO] SET_DATA_ADDRESS to 0x80000000... Done!
[INFO] Sending data... Done!
[INFO] Verifying data... Done!
[INFO] Booting device STAGE1... Done!
[INFO] Done!
sudo usbtool 1 zImage 0x80600000
[INFO] File size: 1220608 bytes
[INFO] Searching for device...
[INFO] Found device, uploading application.
[INFO] GET_CPU_INFO: JZ4740V1
[INFO] SET_DATA_ADDRESS to 0x80600000... Done!
[INFO] Sending data... Done!
[INFO] Verifying data... Done!
[INFO] Booting device STAGE1... Done!
[INFO] Done!

But no error message or anything like that.

After many waisted days of trying to get that little black thing to dual boot, I can definitively say that it is not possible anymore with the new ones. Got mine last week, followed the instructions exactly many times, on Vista, Vista with XP-USBDriver, Ubuntu in VirtualBox, Ubuntu native and finally XP SP1. The dingoo does the same in all of them, it simply never starts the script and never shows any dingux splash, nothing.

I have an unpawed dingoo(if thats what your talking about) and I somehow got dualboot to work, though exactly remember how.

Actually my unpawed dingoo came with fw 1.11 and I couldn't get the dual boot to flash until yesterday. The user bkc_a320 from dingoonity forums released a hwinit file that corrects the flaw and newest dingoos are now able to install the dual boot. Firmware 1.2 has nothing to do with that.

Eventually I updated to fw 1.2 and yesterday tried to flash dingux one more time, but with the bkc_a320's hwinit and it worked.

Make sure you have the most recent version of the Dual Boot Installer. The older one mentioned in the Idiot's Guide has problems on some Dingoos.

Hello, I just thought I would if I can post the link for the author of the fixed hwinit file(s) http://boards.dingoonity.org/dingux-releases/hwinit_2-for-dingux-installer/ this took me some time yesterday to hunt down. As I did read all the sticky topics first to see if I missed anything, which I hadn't. Then I did a search for 'blank screen' in which I found this topic. Good thing too, cause at first I thought I messed up the install big time. Thank you vbcube and Azm0deus for giving input on this topic, you guys saved me from thinking of the dingoo not flashable. As I do know there are newer versions out and about in the world now.
