Cannot make connection using Hyperterminal
If followed the instructions from the dingoo-linux site to get Linux running on my Dingoo (using Windows). Everything went fine and Linux boots fine, but I can't connect the Windows Hyperterminal to log in my Dingoo.
I used following settings:
- Bits per second: 57600
- Data bits: 8
- Parity: None
- Stop bits: 1
- Flow control: None
When I press the 'Call' button, the following messages appear on the Dingoo screen:
gs_setup: set_line_coding unsupported
gs_setup: set_control_line_state unsupported
In the boot messages, I also see some lines saying 'can't log to /sec/tty5'.
Hyperterminal then gives the error message 'Unable to open COM3. Please check your port settings'.
Does anybody have an idea what could be the problem here?
I love my Dingoo that I don't want to break it.
I don't think that's a problem. After I tried out Linux, I was able to reset it without any problem and get the orginal firmware. But I want to do some programming on the Linux stuff.
You dont really have to worry about breaking your dingoo by running linux, thats what the reset button is for :)
You may want to check the linux dev forums on a320, we have been helping a few people get the serial going once they boot. I know on mine I had to switch to the usbserial drivers provided from the gp32x file repository, and I also used teraterm, I could never get it working with hyperterminal.
I downloaded Teraterm from http://www.ayera.com/teraterm/download.cfm and it worked immediately :). I logged in and I'm now exploring the file system.
Thanks for your help!

Do you have a URL of that forum?
I'm getting the same errors with minicom on linux

No I have not tried it yet. I will wait till there is a steady and more reliable way of putting Linux on it. I love my Dingoo that I don't want to break it. Sometimes we want something so bad that we forget what we already have until it's gone.
"Needs IPOD Codec then its a perfect 10"
!!Come on Dingoo team!!
