Official Dingoo Digital China A320 1.20 Firmware

Ok guys the forums have been abuzz about this new firmware seen in the wild the elusive 1.20 Official Dingoo Digital A320 Firmware well I caught him I did I did.

Thanks to my connections at Dingoo Digital China as a reseller they provided me a copy before it is posted on the Dingoo Digital China website. Don't ask me when it will be posted on their site I have no clue the actual Dingoo Digital China website is hacked all the time so who knows when it will get posted there.

So enjoy the new firmware from the rumor mill it seems to fix the y & x button bug and the codec issue with video stalling while playing and last but not least more languages. I don't know I haven't tested it yet as I'm typing this and posting it to everyone else can have it....

Just got my dingoo!?

I know this has probably been answered a million times, but how do I install this new firmware?

Firmware 1.22

I just got my Dingoo and it came with Firmware 1.22 according to the About screen. :)

We would appreciate a lot if

We would appreciate a lot if you upload it, there is an application to get it from your device to your pc.

so we can make a custom of that version :P

Changelog...

Is there a changelog somewhere?  I've found a few new features,  like the music library.  It would be nice to see what all changed/improved/fixed.

Well, 1.1 OFW came out in May

Well, 1.1 OFW came out in May and there's no custom firmware from it after half of a year, so... Never? Give or take.

No one seems to have figured out the new HXF format or something, so we're all just stuck now. 1.03 is the last custom version out there and it might just stay this way at this rate. This is driving me absolutely insane though I'll admit. I really need to switch to a newer firmware, but I also need my custom font since I read so much on my Dingoo. )-:

pof's modified firmware

has anyone installed pof's update to this firmware? i installed it yesterday, so far no bugs, i cant get the neo geo pocket emulator to work though but everything else is great. also can you play normal gameboy roms on the color gameboy emu?

where and how

where do you get it. how is it installed?

I don't want to advertise

I don't want to advertise other places but search in dingoonity boards. You can get the pof's cfw 1.2 there.

I found that POF custom

I found that POF custom firmware. It did indeed let me change the fonts. The themes too. Thanks!

1.2 in new A320

I just recieved my black A320 today, in Australia, bought off e-bay a coupel of days ago.

It is installed with firmware 1.2, 9 languages.

ho do you install this?

I have a mac. and I have no idea how to make this work. Someone Help?

thanks

thanks you for the new firmware

I'll wait for the custom

I'll wait for the custom firmware; no sense in unloading all the roms just to load them back on...

While maing a backup is a good idea...

...it should only take you a few minutes to copy from the Dingoo to a folder on your computer's hard drive.

Once the backup is done, go ahead and do the firmware update.  I did the update to 1.2 and had no issues at all, other than changing the language setting from Mandarin back to English.

I didn't word that very

I didn't word that very well.

What I mean is that the Windows 7 Graphic Theme someone came up with has finally given me a reason to install the custom firmware, and I was about to go through the whole process when this came out.

What I really want is the features from this update (particuarly the video thing) as well as the custom theming capability; that means I'd have go through the whole backup and restore process twice--I have my dingoo filled up with a TON of roms and whatnot, and I'd have to go through the process twice so all my saved data is maintained...

Anyway, IMHO, not worth the hassle of doing twice... does anyone have an ETA on the custom version of this?

-M

Just tried out myself.

Y & B button issue has been fixed. Thank God. I wasn't about to crack this open for a hard mod.

I know! I'm thankful for that

I know! I'm thankful for that as well haha!!

Languages

- 4 which I can't understand, I think Chinese and Japanese and ... ?
- english
- pyccknn?
- deutsch
- francais
- espanol

these are the languages which v1.20 supports.

edit: haha, check the post of  Schmerzlichtod, for the correct information :-)

I Try

I just try my best to support the community and my end users that buy the Dingoo A320 from me. Some do some don't I DO....

Just Hanging out in No Man's Land

Are Dingoo-Digital-USA

Are Dingoo-Digital-USA working on a custom firmware with y&b-fix?
Or annybody else for that matter?

Upgraded

Hey you guys :-)

A couple of hours ago I upgrade mine Dingoo A320 with firmware v1.11 to v1.20 succesfully.
And indeed, the y+b bug is fixed!
They put several extra languages but I couldn't find more improvements.

What languages? (I don't have

What languages? (I don't have a Dingoo atm so I can't check for myself. Sorry for the nag)

Simplified Chinese

Japanese

Custom themes?

Can I use custom themes with this firmware?
Or will I have to wait for a modified one?
I want the Y-B button fix, but also be able to use custom themes...

 No, mate. You'll have to

No, mate. You'll have to wait for the next custom firmware that fixes Y/B (If the custom firmware makers figure out how the "real" Dingoo team pulled it off), if you want both the fix and themes.

Custom themes only work with custom firmwares... Sorry, mate!

Cheers! :)

Hmm

Yeah, figured so.
Hope they'll get on it soon. Do you think it will be a long wait or?

 Unfortunately, yes. I

Unfortunately, yes. I believe it will take a bit before our coders will crack how it was done...

Unless Dingoo-Digital-USA personally contacts the Chinese developers behind it and gets the raw code from them. That's a bit unlikely though I'm unsure whether they would support custom firmware or not. Nevertheless, I suppose it's worth a try.

It all depends on our developers will to code or the cooperation of the Chinese developers.

Either way, it will likely take some time. :/

If you want my opinion though, I would suggest you go with V1.2 over custom firmware because that Y/B fix is GOLDEN! :D It's worth not having a custom BG, IMO!

Nevertheless, good luck with whatever you choose to do, brother!

Think I can do without the

Think I can do without the button fix for now.
I'm not playing games that really need it for now. NES-games ftw :P

It did not overwrite my

It did not overwrite my dualboot. Everything working the same

Firmware

Can I directly update when I have the original firmware v1.11?
And is it better to use the custom firmware or the original one?

Yes sir, you can! I would

Yes sir, you can! I would suggest you go with V1.2 over any custom firmware solely because of the Y/B button fix (which no custom firmware can currently offer!).

If you play Mario, Mega Man X, and others using this function, this update is CRUCIAL for maximum enjoyment!

Good luck, brother!

Thanks Bro!

Hey Thanks Bro!
I thought that the custom firmware had more advantages like better rom support on emulators and so.

Well from what I've seen it

Well from what I've seen it appears that custom firmwares only offer better English (real English not americanised English :P) and the ability to add custom themes. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate our developers efforts, they're just rather limited at this time.

If you want better ROM support I believe Dingux may help you out. Though native firmware is much more reliable, faster, and easier to deal with! Also, for support with Genesis/Mega Drive etc. you can download emulators that work on NATIVE Dingoo firmware here.

Enjoy!

Thanks!

Ok thats great, thanks for the info! Will try this firmware when I get home from work today :)

Updated to 1.2 fine

All was simple and Dingux still works :) Very happy with the button fix. I personally prefer the native emulators for the ease of use and universal button configs so the button fix pleases me no end!

Will this install over 1.1 with dual boot?

I need to know if I can install this on my Dual boot Dingoo with 1.1 installed. If so, is dual boot still active? And if not will the old dual boot flash procedure still work on 1.2 machine?

Dual boot still works after updating to 1.2

I've updated my dual boot Dingoo from 1.1 to 1.2 and my dual boot still works.

Tested

I can confirm that the Y -B problem is fixed.

 the day has finally come....

 the day has finally come....

YAY

Do you need to install any previous firmware updates before this one?

 I don't believe so, however

I don't believe so, however I upgraded from V1.11 (which came with my Dingoo) to V1.20.

Even still, I believe you can upgrade from V1.0 without a problem. However there may be complications if you are trying to update from custom firmware, I cannot give you a solid answer if that be the case!

At any rate, just be sure to back up everything be for attempting anything!

Good luck, buddy!

How do you upgrade to v1.2?

Would somebody provide instruction on upgrading to v1.2?

It's this easy...

 Sure! It's very simple:

FIRST, back up your files on your Dingoo (for just in case they get formatted, mine didn't but yours may!).

Then download the firmware from here .

After it's fully downloaded (be sure of it!), you'll have to decompress the .RAR file (using Stuffit, WinRAR, etc. you can Google ".RAR decompression," for more).

From there, put the file in the ROOT directory of your Dingoo (make sure you're not placing it in your SD Card, it won't work), then disconnect your Dingoo from USB.

Then, power off your Dingoo and press and hold the down button on the D-Pad. Whilst still holding "down" power on the Dingoo until it says it's updating then it's safe to let loose your hold of the down button.

From there simply wait until it's finished updating.

It will come back in Chinese, to change back to your preferred language simply go all the way to the right to the icon that looks like a gear, click "A," then press the down button 5 times, click "A," and select your language!

Good luck, brother, enjoy!

thanks too

Thanks for the quick howto, but... well when I changed the firmware I remember I flashed the dingoo with this weird program and had such a trouble... or did I do something different that time? I mean this way seems too easy, far better than what I did last time with the custom firmware xD [and bricked and unbricked my dingo several times in the process lol]

Thanks

Thank you very much.

 No problem, enjoy! :)

 No problem, enjoy! :)

No Probs

It will upgrade from custom to the 1.20 firmware with no issues at all did it on mine. Glad I could help everyone ;) As for raw source code very very unlikely guys I have a good connection but no chance of raw source code.

Just Hanging out in No Man's Land

Good to Know!

Great! Thanks for the update, it's sure to be greatly appreciated by many!

Ja, that's the unfortunate, yet easily predictable predicament I expected. :/

new dingoo user

hello just received my dingoo from DX (took it 13days ffrom shipment~)

will update the firmware rightaway at home... (mine still 1.11 from the box)
