CUSTOMIZING THEMES AND FONTS
The directories “a”, “b”, “c” and “d” within the “res” directory contains the images/icons for the main navigation menu. The default contents of each of these directories are practically the same (filenames and number of files) The only obvious difference is that the 2 wallpaper files are different images.
Please remember that no matter what you do you must have the same naming convention, the same number of files in each of the “theme” directories and we are only replacing existing images/icons with our own modified versions!
The font directory within the res directory contains the menu fonts that the Dingoo uses

i read the instructions but am unable to locate "Locate and install driver software" or something equivilent.. maybe im just looking in the wrong place :(
After putting your dingoo in
After putting your dingoo in USB mode ( Press and hold B + reset ), connect your dingoo to a USB cable. You should then be prompted to install a USB driver. The USB driver is within the usb_drv ( usb driver ) directory. If you are not prompted at all, you can just right click the "Jz4740_usb.inf" file and choose "install".

thanks for the reply, but to
thanks for the reply, but to no avail (im probably just retarted :P). Is this driver really necessary though if the device is already recognized? i think that is my problem because generic drivers already make it recognizable as "China Chip PMP USBDISK USB Device"
I had the SAME problem
Don't feel alone, no one is understandting that XP won't allow us to change the driver that automatically applies to this device.
Update: I connected my Dingoo which made it go into usb mode, held down the B button and reset the system.
NOW... go to control panel, click Add New Hardware, have it search for the device, then choose Yes, device is connected, it may not be in that list, click Next.
Then, you should see a Chinachip USB Loader with a yellow ? & !, chose to install your driver.
THAT should do the trick now. Follow all the steps to-the-tee after that and it should work perfectly.

i dont know if is the same with you, but i think its a bug or something like this
Flash movies are working
Flash movies are working perfectly. Just tried one right now and its playing flawless.
Flash movie must be a .flv file. There are issues with some flash movies just like with the original firmware, but there are no difference between the modified and the official firmware version.

SWF animations
Perhaps, he's talking about swf animations.
In Picutres Menu->Flash i could play some .swf animations but now Dingoo does nothing :(

No worries. You did something wrong. Go through the procedure again. Take special note that you need to run the flash application as local administrator if you are using windows vista.

For those who are worried
For those who are worried about bricking your dingoo I can tell you that you wont. And if you decide that you don't want this firmware version anyway, you can always go back to the official firmware by placing the firmware file into the root of the dingoo and press and hold down on the d-pad while resetting. Or you can simply use the unbrick tool.

one question,in nls folder are language files and include spanish,
but why cant select any language? only view english and 2 asian languages
if i rename spanish file to english file worksss???
berny6969 if you rename de
berny6969 if you rename de files to get spanish lang you get a "Chiquito de la Calzada" Dingoo ;) , the translation is very poor.
I´m working now on this but spanish file don´t have a lot of strings, maybe is better to translate the english file.
